Thomas Matthew Crooks was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1948. He graduated from Bethel Park High School in 1966 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 1970.
After graduation, Thomas began his career as an electrical engineer with the Westinghouse Electric Corporation. He quickly rose through the ranks, and in 1984, he was named president of Westinghouse's Power Generation Business Unit.
In 1991, Thomas left Westinghouse to start his own company, Crooks Technologies. Crooks Technologies is a leading provider of electrical engineering services to the power generation industry.
Over the years, Thomas has been recognized for his many contributions to the power generation industry. In 2002, he was named a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). In 2006, he was inducted into the National Academy of Engineering.
Today, Thomas is retired and living in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. He continues to be active in the community, serving on the boards of several local organizations.
