UConn Basketball: A Season Preview

UConn men's basketball is set to tip off its 2023-24 season on November 9th against the Stonehill Skyhawks at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut. The Huskies are coming off a disappointing season in which they finished 15-18 overall and 7-13 in the Big East Conference.

The Huskies' Schedule

UConn's schedule is a challenging one, featuring 10 games against teams that reached the NCAA Tournament last season. The Huskies will also play four games against teams that are ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 preseason poll.

The Huskies' Roster

The Huskies will be led by a talented roster that features a mix of experienced players and promising newcomers.

Key Returners

  • Adama Sanogo (C, 6'9", 245 lbs.): Sanogo is a preseason All-American and one of the best players in the country. He averaged 14.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game last season.
  • Andre Jackson Jr. (G, 6'6", 220 lbs.): Jackson is a versatile wing who can score, rebound, and defend. He averaged 12.1 points and 6.0 rebounds per game last season.
  • Tyler Polley (G, 6'3", 185 lbs.): Polley is a sharpshooting guard who can provide a scoring punch off the bench. He averaged 10.3 points per game last season.

Key Newcomers

  • Donovan Clingan (F, 6'9", 250 lbs.): Clingan is a transfer from the College of Charleston who will be eligible to play immediately. He was a First Team All-CAA selection last season, averaging 17.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.
